Munising’s Fourth of July celebration is right around the corner, but the energy’s already here. From polka dances to paddle races, drivein movies to downhill biking, the week is packed. Music is in the air all over town — at ByGeorge, East Channel, The Barge Inn, Midway General Store and even the Moose Lodge.
Whiskey Ryan seems to be playing on every corner (East Channel, ByGeorge, Nahma — take your pick), and he’s not alone. Jay Krueger and Wyatt Kulik are also in the mix, bringing their own flavor to the local soundscape. The 31st season of Summer Concerts in the Park just launched at Bayshore, and Munising’s Fourth of July music lineup runs from 2 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. with a stacked bill: Black Ice Diamonds, Drednot, Jessey Adams and Sky Pilots — with Jessey taking us into the fireworks with the national anthem at dark.
Whether you’re here for the polka or the pasties, check in with event hosts before you head out — weather and last-minute surprises always have their own plans.
