Second quarter woes doom Munising girls in regional final loss to St. Ignace

The first quarter? That went about as well as the Munising girls basketball team could have hoped. The second quarter? That was another story unfortunately, as the Lady Mustangs were outscored by St. Ignace by 18 points in that frame, leading to Munising falling 54-33 in their Division 4 regional championship game at Newberry.

Hockey hands out the hardware

With the third season of local high school hockey complete, the 2023-2024 Manistique Emeralds came together to celebrate their season. The annual endof- season awards banquet was hosted at the Munising High School on Monday. The ceremony honored top performers from this past season and also served as a farewell to Coach John Nutkins, who has announced he will no longer be coaching the program.
