After firing Nathaniel Hackett on Dec. 26, the Denver Broncos promoted Jerry Rosburg to be its new interim head coach. Rosburg has been a coordinator for three NFL teams since 2001, but got his start as a graduate assistant at Northern Michigan University.
Rosburg is the third NFL head coach this season connected to NMU, the most of any NCAA Division 2 school. Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur coached and New York Jets Robert Saleh played for the Wildcats as a tight end. It continues a string of other coaching successes connected to the school like Lloyd Carr, Steve Mariucci and Jerry Glanville.
