Yet another fun month, last month, here at the library. Our community came together for some fun events, we’re seeing new books on the shelves and we are making connections in our community. Let’s keep it going! I hope to meet more of you this month.
Sat. April 1 – We are going to kick off National Poetry Month with a free blackout poetry workshop the first Saturday of the month. No need to RSVP, just come when the workshop begins and let’s get creative.
Sat. April 8 – I am so ready for spring, flowers and warmer weather. Unfortunately here in the U.P., we have several more weeks of snow and cold before we see any of that. RSVP for this free painting party to put some pep in your spring step. Participants will go home with a 11×14 painting of tree blossoms to brighten up their space for Easter/Spring Equinox.
Sat. April 15 – Our book club chose “Mad Honey” by Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan. Join us for a relaxing morning to discuss this bestseller over fresh coffee and a breakfast treat. All are welcome – no need to RSVP.
Sat. April 29 – Did I mention I’m ready for spring, plants and warm weather? Let’s have a houseplant swap! Bring as many clippings as you’d like. The day of participants will set up their space, fill out plant cards for each of their clippings, mingle over coffee and snacks, make new plant friends and then start swapping! If you’ve never been to a plant swap, they are easy, relaxing and fun. RSVP by April 26 so we can have the correct amount of table space.
As always, black and white copies are available at the library for 25 cents. Free wi-fi and computer access is also available. See you at the library!
