Tri-County Fundraiser Saturday

The 46th Annual Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department Fundraiser will be this Saturday, July 15, at the TCFD fire hall on H 13. Food, auction, vendor space and more will help offset general operating costs for the department that serves Alger, Schoolcraft and Delta County areas.

Hill visits Munising Saturday

Local Michigan House of Representatives member Jenn Hill will be hosting a coffee hour at Munising School Public Library from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15. The coffee hour is her first at the library in Munising and she will discuss issues impacting the area.

Skandia Days Saturday

The annual Skandia Days event in Skandia will be this Saturday, July 15. The parade floats will start lining up at 10 a.m. on Krieger Drive, ending at the township hall, where various kids games, a baseball game, cornhole tournament, bazaar and more will take place.

UPSHOF Tournament Saturday

Pictured Rocks Golf Course will host the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame Golf Outing on Saturday, July 15. The UPSHOF provides various scholarships across the U.P. and celebrates some of the greatest athletes to come from the region. The outing will be played as a four-man scramble.

Free sports physicals Saturday

Munising Memorial Hospital is hosting a free sports physical day at Munising and Superior Central on Saturday, July 15. Physicals will be available at Munising High School from 9 a.m.-noon and at Superior Central from 1 p.m.- 4 p.m.. To participate in MHSAA sports, all Mustangs and Cougars will need to get a physical.

Grand Marais raises funds for Pickle Barrel

The Grand Marais Historical Society announced that the group raised almost $4,000 over the Fourth of July weekend through silent auctions, kids raffles and shirt sales. Funds will be used to repair the fencing surrounding the famous Pickle Barrel House in downtown Grand Marais.
