Menominee to play in state final Only one team from the Upper Peninsula has qualified for a state championship game in football: the Menominee Maroons. Menominee will face off against Jackson Lumen Christi on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Ford Field.
Increased support for Lions won’t change broadcast schedule According to broadcasting contracts between the NFL and television broadcasting companies like Fox, CBS, Disney and Amazon, the majority of the Upper Peninsula will still see Green Bay Packers games instead of Detroit Lions games this season when the two play at the same time. Due to long-standing broadcast connections with Wisconsin, the U.P. is often considered as part of the Green Bay/Rhinelander market.
