The Munising Moose Lodge has found a low-cost solution for those looking for something to do on Thursday nights. Between 4:00 and 8:00 p.m. the Lodge opens its doors to the public, offering board games and music whether you’re looking for an easy date night or even just want to meet new friends. Enjoy an old favorite such as Trivial Pursuit or Battleship while listening to some of your favorite music from past decades.

The music usually begins around 5:00 p.m. and is provided by a group of amateur musicians who play just for the fun of it. The number of people playing varies from week to week with the music always acoustic. While most of the musicians play guitar, this past week offered ukulele and soft percussion to the soft harmonies of the songs being sung.

Newcomers are always welcome to bring their instruments and join in and have a good time. Even if you don’t play an instrument, you’re still welcome to sing along to the songs which range from classics such as Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard and Wagon Wheel.

Acoustic Jams meets every Thursday night throughout winter when the Moose Lodge is open.
