On Tuesday January 9, 2024, the governor of Michigan declared that day “Wolverine Day” to honor the incredible success of the University of Michigan, the 2024 College Football National Championship team.

The Wolverines had not suffered a defeat all season racking up a 15-0 record.

Running back Blake Corum scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns, finishing at 133 yards. Running back Donovan Edwards took 104 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter.

Celebrants started 17 fires through Ann Arbor, more than one group igniting fireworks to mark the occasion.
