On Jan 20th, a garage caught fire at 4358 Au Train Trail. Fire fighters were called at 8:46 PM to the structure in Onota township to battle the blaze. Units from Au Train and Munising Township and the City of Munising rushed to the scene.

According to Au Train Fire Chief Perry King, the initial blaze was extinguished relatively quickly, despite the swirling winds that constantly changed direction. Firefighters stayed on scene to handle “hot spots.” Another structure, a wood shop was endangered, but the fire was quickly contained, keeping it from harm.

Unfortunately, the garage was a total loss, completely consumed by the fire.
