They were both losses, but the Munising Baptist volleyball team really got better as the night went on Monday. They were playing two games over at the Maplewood JV team, dropping both.
“We had a few long serving runs [by Willow] and a hard spike from one of our older girls [Skylar Mickelson] we were very excited about,” co-head coach Ashley LaFlamme said.
In the first game, the Lady Bobcats lost 25-15 and 25-8. The second contest was a much closer 28-26 and 25-19 setback.
“The girls had a slow start, probably due to the two hour car ride over, but they were able to wake up a little and almost win a match,” LaFlamme said. “We were really happy with how encouraging Audrey Maloney was on the court.”
Munising Baptist heads to Big Bay on Tuesday.
