Superior Central cross country competes in meet at Gwinn

The Superior Central cross country team saw action at the Gwinn Invitational on Tuesday, September 3. The Cougars were able to get their boys’ team to come in fifth place, while the girls’ squad had a second place finish.

On the boys’ side, Cody Moore led the way with a 12th place finish and time of 21 minutes 11 seconds. Carter Korpi was 20th with a 22:40 and in 22nd was Jack Kasten at 23:45. Getting a 23rd place finish was Clay Horne, who timed out at 23:46 and right behind him was Cole Ozoga, who was 24th at 24:23. Isaac Gleason ran to a 27th place finish with a time of 25:53 and Joseph Augustyn crossed the line at 29:44, coming in 31st.

In the girls’ race, Kiera McDonald was ninth with a time of 28:16, Elaina Karvinen was 12th with a 30:17 and Isabella Karvinen placed 15th thanks to her time of 32:00. Emma Stoliecki was 16th with a 32:15 and Aiyana Taskey was 19th at 33:47.
