The Superior Central volleyball team competed in their first Central Upper Peninsula Conference match of the season on Tuesday, September 3. The Lady Cougars were down at Stephenson, where they came up short in three sets, 25-21, 25-15 and 25-16.
They had freshman Kylie Stuer lead the attack with eight kills, and she also managed to get two blocks and 12 digs. Marissa Strohm had four kills, two aces and 10 digs and Peyton Smith contributed three kills, one block and 10 digs. Setter Ruth Johnson was able to get 15 assists, five digs, two kills and one service ace. Rory Hancock tracked down 15 digs while playing libero during the contest.
S-C heads to Powers North Central on Tuesday, September 17 and is at Bark River Harris on Thursday, September 19.
