Munising Baptist volleyball competes in league matches

The Munising Baptist volleyball team took part in a home Northern Lights League match with Hannahville on Sept. 24. The Bobcats suffered a loss in three sets — 25-11, 25-7 and 25-9 — but there was still plenty to be happy about.

“We were really pleased with how the girls played their game and kept their spirits up,” co-head coach Ashley LaFlamme said. “Hailee Hostetler had an amazing tip during the game, and Willow was a vital player, getting a lot of shanked balls and covering holes.”

On Sept. 23, the Bobcats made the lengthy voyage for a league contest at Mackinac Island, where they lost 2513, 26-24 and 25-11.

“All the girls did amazing on their serves,” LaFlamme said. “Also, the Munising Baptist volleyball team has a habit of starting the games at Mackinac very lethargic because of the long trip over, but the girls this time overcame the long trip and played with some excitement.”

Munising Baptist lost a three-set match at Paradise on Monday, Sept. 30, and will return to action next Monday at home with Big Bay de Noc.
