The Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health announced a talent survey for Upper Peninsula healthcare providers. The objective of the project is to better understand regional healthcare talent needs as a means to improve NMU’s strategic alignment across various university academic programs and build stronger partnerships with regional healthcare providers.

Swift named Co-Player of the Year

Ethan Swift, the eighth grade goaltender for the Munising Baptist Bobcats soccer team, was named Co-Player of the Year for the Northern Lights League soccer season. Standing tall in net, the goaltender impressed many with his heroics in the NLL postseason tournament, as Munising Baptist lost the championship game in penalty kicks.

After a strong opening night and a solid first week with the new building, East Channel Brewing Company new distribution and brewing center in downtown Munising is performing well. “It was a little more of an undertaking than we planned on at the start, but it all came together well,” Owner and Brewer Joe DesJardins said.
