On February 23, 2024, an undercover operation in Alger County resulted in the arrest of a 49 year old man from Marquette, Michigan. David Grant Derouin was arrested on February 23rd for engaging in Child Sexually Abusive Activity and Using a Computer in Commission of a Crime.

Earth Fest 2024 Expands
Munising’s second Earth Fest partnership between Alger County Renewable Energy Solutions and Munising School Public Library, has expanded to include the Gallery Coffee Co. with sponsorship from the Michigan Environmental Council. This year’s events will include weekly Armchair Trips to explore the Earth’s flora and fauna through film media. Nature movies will be screened, one a week, at the Gallery Coffee Co. located at 120 Elm Ave, Munising. They are scheduled on Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16 and 23 beginning at 10 AM.
