Munising tennis welcomes in new coach Corinne Hoffman

The Munising boys tennis team had quite a memorable season last spring. The Mustangs finished in third place as a team at the U.P. Finals meet and had three state champions; one from a singles player (Ashton Wymer) and two from a doubles flight (Kane Nebel and Carson Kienitz). Munising has a first year head coach in Corinne Hoffman, but she is hoping to help lead the Mustangs to a similar result this year.

Munising’s Joe Kelley, Reece Cotey along with S-C Eli Penney named to UP All Star Game

The U.P. Football All Star Game organizers officially announced rosters last month; and three area players were honored by having their names called to take part in the event. The annual contest, which features some of the top seniors in the upper peninsula, will take place at the Superior Dome at Northern Michigan University on June 22, at 1 p.m.

Munising track teams hope for continued success

It is safe to say that things went pretty well for the Munising track and field teams last spring. The boys’ team won conference and regional titles and capped things off with a Division 3 U.P. Championship. The girls’ had plenty of success themselves, winning a regional title as well. The Mustangs hope for similar things to happen this season, but things will be a bit more difficult as they move up to Division 2.
