The Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA) has announced its Players of the Week for the games of November 1112 and four student-athletes from three different programs. Ryan O’Hara (Bowling Green) earned Forward of theWeek, while Will Zmolek (Bemidji State) and Mattias Sholl (Bemidji State) were the Defenseman and Goaltender of the Week, respectively. The North Central High School football team faced its first challenge of the season on Saturday, but pulled away from the Marion Eagles, 36-12, in Lower Michigan. The win moves the Jets into the state championship game next Saturday at the Superior Dome.

The Bay College Norse Women’s Basketball Team (2-2) earned a split for the second weekend in a row using a strong shooting night to overcome the Mesabi Range Norse (0-3) by a final of 7950 on Friday night. The Bay College Men’s Basketball Team (2-0) started their season off strong this past weekend beating Harper College (1-3) by a score of 97-66 and Gogebic Community College (1-1) by a final of 8753. The games were part of the first of three classic tournaments the Norse are hosting this season.
