Munising, Brimley rescheduled The varsity football game between the Munising Mustangs and Brimley Bays was rescheduled to yesterday, Oct. 5. The results of that game came after the deadlines of this week’s Munising Beacon. The junior varsity game was canceled.

The Norse Cross Country Teams fought challenging conditions on Friday. The men finished strong while the women collected a team score and ended up seventh out of 11 teams.

The 2023 Northern Lights League soccer postseason tournament will be broadcasted on the new EUP Sports Network, a social media broadcast company owned by The Newberry News. Every game of the seven-team, single-elimination tournament will be broadcasted on EUP’s YouTube and Facebook pages on Saturday, Oct. 14. Local teams of Munising Baptist, Grand Marais and Big Bay de Noc will be competing for the title.

The Munising Baptist Bobcats had a rare non-conference game against Copper Country Christian on Friday, Sept. 29, defeating the road team 4-2.

The Munising Mustangs girls tennis program had a tough go of things at the GNC tennis championships in Marquette, finishing last of the seven teams at the competition. “It was tough sledding for us at GNCs as we were the smallest school there,” said Munising Coach Rich Prunick, Jr.

MHA registration open Registration is now available for the Munising Hockey Association 202324 season. The registration allows local hockey players to play with USA Hockey affiliated teams. Coop programs are possible for any age group over 10U. Register online at www.munisinghockey. org.
