When Tri County Fire Department Chief George Whitehead couldn’t get the floor mat piano to work, he had to trade his auctioneer’s microphone for his dancing shoes and show the crowd what the item could do.

It was one of many memorable moments from the raucus TCFD annual fundraiser day on Saturday, July 15. The event brought in over 300 people for an auction, tailgate, live music and beer garden, vendor bazaar and more. Dozens of volunteers also donated their time to make the event go without a hitch.

The annual event has helped fund the TCFD, a volunteer fire department not directly attached to a municipality. It serves the Finger Lakes area near H 13 in Alger, Schoolcraft and Delta Counties.
