It’s that magical time of year again — Girl Scout Cookie season. That’s right, Girl Scout Cookie season is back, and Troop 5113 — Munising’s one and only Girl Scout troop — is ready to satisfy your cookie cravings while funding their big plans for the year.
Here’s everything you need to know about this year’s cookie campaign and what our local troop is up to.
Mark your calendars Orders open: Now through Feb. 5.
Delivery: Cookies will arrive during the last week of February — just in time to cure your winter blues.
Season ends: Didn’t snag enough Thin Mints? Don’t panic — they’ll keep taking orders until March 30.
Booth sales: Stay tuned for March booth locations, where you can stock up in person.
What’s on the menu?
Good news — there’s no new cookie flavor this year to tempt you away from your classics. Bad news — this is the last year for Toast-Yays, the French toast-flavored cookie everyone either loves or loves to debate. Stock up before they vanish forever. Cookies are now $6 per box — totally worth it for the smiles they bring (and the crumbs you’ll definitely find later).
Can’t find a Scout?
If you don’t know a Girl Scout personally, you can contact Erin Dolaskie at 805-264-8548 or grab some cookies at our booth sales in March. (Erin’s troop website isn’t working yet, but she’s hoping for a digital rescue mission soon.)
What Troop 5113 is up to Troop 5113 is a small but mighty group made up mostly of Cadettes (seventh graders), with a few Juniors (fifth grade), one eighth-grade Cadette and one ambitious ninth-grade Senior.
They’re gearing up for some big fun, including summer camp at a Girl Scout camp and Girl Scout Day at a Wisconsin Timber Rattlers game.
The troop typically meets every other week, but this year they’ve shifted to monthly meetings. Still, they’re keeping the Girl Scout spirit alive and strong in Munising.
