Munising School Public Library notes

Book Owls Family Reading Night will take place on Tues. Feb. 7 at 5:30 p.m. at the library. This Great Start Collaborative led program is open to all families of young children and meets monthly on the first Tuesday. Make literacy a part of your family routine and see your children flourish in their love of books and reading. Always fun for the whole family, Book Owls Family Reading gives your child a “Great Start”!

February will see the start the 2:45 Film Series of popular film at the Library. Every other Wednesday for the next few months the Library will show popular films in the afternoon. Weds., Feb. 8 is Dune (PG-13 155 Mins.) and Weds., Feb. 22 is Aquaman (PG-13 143 Mins.)

If you are hoping to participate in Alger Reads, the newly reformed library book discussion club, make sure to get on the list for the upcoming books. The book club meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 6 p.m. in the library. On Tues., Feb. 28 they will be discussing the book The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune. On Feb. 9 at 12 o’clock noon the Alger County Library Board will meet at the library for their quarterly meeting. Also on Feb. 9 at 4 p.m. the Munising School Public Library Advisory Board will hold their monthly board meeting. All are welcome to attend.

A very basic Beginning Computers class will be held on Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. for Seniors and those interested in getting started from square one. Space is limited, pre-registration is required. You must RSVP by calling 906-387-2125.

Alger Roots Genealogy will meet on Weds. Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. to explore creating a family tree chart and also to work on sorting some of the old Munising News photos.

TaleSpinners Storytime for preschool-age children and their caregivers continues every Monday morning at 10:30am. Join Ms. Kristin for stories, songs, and crafts on Monday, Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m. all around …. Starting later in February, and recurring once a month, a Park Ranger from Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore will be at TaleSpinners Storytime with their Read with a Ranger program. The first one is scheduled for Mon., Feb. 27.
