Munising Drama Club performs today The Munising Drama Club is performing “Rainbow Fish”, a stage adaptation of the famous Marcus Pfister children’s book. There will be two performances, Friday, April 21 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 23 at 3 p.m., with both performances at the Mather Auditorium.
Earth Week continues at MSPL The first Earth Fest continues today and tomorrow at the Munising School Public Library. Numerous displays, projects and events focus on environmental sustainability and conservation. A meet and greet with display presenters will be held from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Saturday to wrap up the event.
Xmas Motorsports Park announce opening day The Xmas Motorsports Park in Christmas announced that April 29-30 will be the opening weekend. Hosting local motocross racing, the park has been named one of the best in the American Motocross Association District 16 for four of the last six years.
Alleged Escanaba Walmart vandal arraigned Paul Storms was arraigned in Delta County District Court on Monday on charges of malicious destruction of personal property of $20,000 or more. The charges stem from a well-recorded rampage of self-checkout kiosks and jewelry displays after a masked man smashed them with a hammer. Storms is scheduled to appear for a probable cause hearing on April 27.
Michigan has largest percentage of younger voters The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement (CIRCLE) at Tufts University reported that younger voters in Michigan turned out more than any other state for the 2022 election. The report said that 37 percent of Michigan voters between 18-29 voted in 2022, which is 14 percent higher than the national average of 23 percent. Michigan was one of four states where voters from 18-29 increased from the 2018 election.
Pure Michigan updates campaign The Pure Michigan advertising campaign will receive a face lift with more activity based advertisements. According to press releases from Travel Michigan and Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Office, the campaign update called “Keep It Fresh” will be more lively and feature up-tempo music. Tim Allen remains as the main narrator, but adds Detroit poet Jessica Care Moore. The campaign will also return to national cable and streaming television broadcasts.
