Multiple volunteer firefighters from departments across Alger County participated in a training exercise on Connors Road on Saturday, May 6.

Firefighters from the Munising City, Munising Township, Au Train Township, Rock River Township, Tri County and Mathias Township fire departments learned search and breaching techniques on the property. A controlled burn also allowed the firefighters to watch and see how different aspects of the house design, air flow and materials would impact the burn patterns.

The house was reportedly not habitable and was donated for the training experience. Further videos of the training are available on the Munising Fire Department Facebook page.
