St. Ignace native Pat Rickley (left) was presented with a tribute by Michigan House of Representatives member Neil Friske (R-Charlevoix) in recognition of over 30 years of service to the Mackinac Bridge. Rickley served as one of the toll booth operators, making him one of the longest running employees working with the bridge in some capacity. He welcomed millions of people to the Upper Peninsula, one car load at a time.
The accolades and recognition for Rickley have come from all over, including features in the Detroit News.
Rickley has served in multiple local service roles, including serving as a board member for the Sault
Tribe of Chippewa Indians.
