The annual Alger County Fair ran from August 4-6 at the county fairgrounds in Chatham, with large crowds participating and visiting in various events during the weekend.
Over 100 animals were involved in the livestock show, animal costume contest and horse speed events.
Little Miss Pageant classes were larger than the five-year average dozens of runners took on the Run with the Cows 5k and a record-setting field for the cornhole tournament also showed that the humans were getting in on the action too.
According to the Alger County Veterans Affairs office, 137 veterans were able to enter the fair for free through sponsored tickets.
