Local author meet & greet Saturday

Falling Rock Café & Bookstore will be hosting a local Michigan author day on Saturday, Aug. 26 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.. The event will feature eight local authors who will speak about their published works.

Seven arraigned in Forsyth Township sting

Seven men from five counties were charged with four counts related to child sexually abusive activity after an undercover sting was organized by multiple agencies in Forsyth Township, according to a press release from the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office. Names were not released by deadline of The Munising Beacon.

No update in ACAS eviction

While a pretrial hearing was held last Monday, there are no changes in the court schedule for the eviction of the Humane Society of Alger County, who does business as the Alger County Animal Shelter. There is no additional update on an updated zoning application for the non-profit’s proposed new shelter in Munising Township either.

Last Whitmer kidnapping trial underway

The trials for Eric Molitor, William Null and Michael Null, three of the alleged co-conspirators in the plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer over COVID19 restrictions, began their trial on Monday in Antrim County.
