The Munising Bay Cruisers will host its annual car cruise to Grand Marais on Friday and car show on Saturday. The cruise will take motorists from Munising up H-58 for a block party and more in Grand Marais before setting up at the grounds north of the M-28 roundabout at 10 a.m. on Saturday for the car show.
Heinonen shoot Saturday
The seventh annual Dylan Heinonen Archery Shoot is set for Saturday, Sept. 16 from noon-6 p.m. in Trenary. The event allows any archer to shoot at 20 life-sized animal targets across the woods of the Cady farm, with youth archers also able to compete.
Jacobetti Home forum Tuesday
The Michigan Veterans Home D.J. Jacobetti Community Forum is scheduled for Tues., Sept. 19 at Northern Michigan University’s Northern Center. The forum will discuss changes happening with the new veterans home and existing property.
DQ closes for season
The Munising Dairy Queen closed on Sat. Sept. 9, marking the first of Munising’s many seasonal businesses to close for the season. The long-running ice cream chain will return next year alongside other seasonal businesses that are closing up shop throughout the rest of September.
Torch Run goes through Alger
The 39th Law Enforcement Torch Run passed through Alger County on Tues. Sept. 12 on its way from Copper Harbor to Belle Isle. The event is a fundraiser for Special Olympics.
Giles named board president of Superior Health Foundation
