Fall Phantasm Saturday
Marquette Fringe’s annual Halloween event Phantasm will be Saturday, Oct. 7 from 3-11 p.m. at Lakenenland. This year’s theme is Festival of Myth and Fire, so various performances of dance, skits and more will focus on this theme. The event is free and volunteers are still needed, with more information available on the event’s Facebook page.
Skandia Harvest Fest Saturday
The fourth-annual Skandia Harvest Fest will be Saturday, Oct. 7 from 4-7 p.m. at the Skandia Township Hall. The event includes separate chili and pie cook offs, pumpkin carving and pressing apples for cider. Those entering competitive events are asked to arrive and enter at 3:30 p.m..
Color Tour Craft Show Saturday
The Grand Marais Women’s Club will host its annual Color Tour Craft Show at the Burt Township School on Saturday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.. The event encourages people to take the trip to Grand Marais to enjoy the colors and then enjoy the show.
Reading dog Madison available Saturday Madison, a three-year-old golden retriever and certified therapy dog, will be available at Falling Rock Cafe & Bookstore from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7. The dog often uses reading time as a way to interact with individuals looking for organized social activities and adjustment to interacting in public places. All are welcome Coffee with a Cop Monday Michigan State Police Trooper Tom Kinnunen, the community service trooper from the local Negaunee post, will have a meet and greet with people at Gallery Coffee Company on Monday, Oct. 9 starting at 10 a.m.. The event is to promote information about the Michigan State Police and their efforts in the area.
Quilt show next weekend
The Munising Bay Quilt Guild will host its triennial quilt show on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Over 200 quilts and quilted items will be showcased between various vendors and quilters.
