The annual Munising Public Schools homecoming parade is today, Oct. 13 at 3:30 p.m. in downtown Munising. The parade will go down Superior and Elm. All are welcome to attend, but those looking to avoid the parade are encouraged to take other routes.

Quilt Show continues

The Munising Bay Quilt Guild is hosting its triennial quilt show today and tomorrow, Oct. 13-14 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Over 200 quilts and quilted items will be showcased between various vendors and quilters.

City approves Rekindle closure

The Munising City Commission unanimously approved the closure of Superior Street on November 30, 2023 from 5:15-7:30 p.m. for Rekindle the Spirit. The annual holiday event includes a parade, holiday shopping and a visit with various winter friends.

Grand Marais Community Chorus restarts Singers are invited to join in the Grand Marais Community Chorus, with practices starting on Monday, Oct. 23 at 6 p.m. in the community center. The chorus comes together for the holiday season for performances at Starry, Starry Night and Christmas potlucks.

Skandia park ribbon cutting The new SkandiaTownship Park will have a ribbon cutting for its new playground on Wednesday, Oct. 18 from 5-6:30 p.m.. The event will allow the township to thank donors and volunteers while giving the kids plenty of time to enjoy the new playground.

Munising Township rec plan up for review The Munising Township five-year recreation plan is now available for review. The township is required to have the plan available for public review before voting on it. The plan can be read at the township hall during normal business hours.
