Boxley charged in deadly fire

A woman facing an attempted murder charge in 11th Circuit Court has been charged with similar crimes in Marquette County.

Julie Boxley, 52 of Ishpeming, was charged with one count of homicide in the first degree and one count of arson in the first degree. The charges are in relation to a March 5, 2023 fire in Ishpeming which allegedly led to the death of 72-year-old Ishpeming resident Glenn Andrews roughly two weeks later.

She has not been arraigned at this time. No hearings were scheduled as of this week’s edition of the Munising Beacon.

Boxley is currently facing charges of assault with great bodily harm less than murder and assault with intent to murder over allegations that she attempted to set a man on fire in a 2021 incident in the Christmas area of Au Train Township. She is scheduled for another hearing in December.
