The County Commissioners met on Jan 4, 2024. Dean Seaberg (District 2) was elected Chair, Mickey Rondeau (District 5) was elected Vice-Chair. Some discussion was made on the salaries of the commissioners. In the end, it was unanimously agreed to change their current payment structure to a flat rate of $6,000 per year, plus milage consistent with IRS standards.
It was also decided that in order to streamline the committee processes, all internal committees will be held on the first Tuesdays of the month from 8:00 p.m. to Noon. Commissioners will be assigned with only two to a committee, thus ensuring that no one would have to be on more than two committees at a time, thus saving time and gas on frequent trips to meetings.
Scott Smith was unanimously appointed 93rd district Court Alger Magistrate.
The final piece of business was to make a change in scheduling. The Committee of the Whole meeting time was moved from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for Monday January 8th and for all following meetings of the Committee of the Whole.
