5th Annual Market Walk Walk to earn tokens to spend on locally grown produce at the Munising Farmers’ and Artisans’ Market. Walk at the Munising Tribal Health Center’s Walking Track upstairs at 615 W. Munising Avenue between 4:30 – 8:00 p.m. on M – F starting on January 29 th and going until May 1 st or until all available tokens have been distributed.

Women’s Snowshoe Hike Join the Alger Conservation District and Michigan State University Extension for their 2024 Women in the Woods snowshoe series! Come be a part of a community of women who appreciate the forests around them while getting fresh air and exercise to fight off cabin fever. The first trail of the season will be on Thursday, February 1 st , at Valley Spur Cross Country Trail in Munising. The hike lasts from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.. Valley Spur Classic Groomer Fundraiser 10K classic ski race, a solid mix of hills and double pole bliss. Race has been rescheduled from January. The new date for the race is FEBRUARY 3, 2024! Sameday registration available from 8:30 – 9:30 a.m. with race beginning at 10:00 a.m.. Valley Spur Ski Trails, M-94, Munising. Proceeds benefit Groomer Capital Campaign. Veteran Community and Family Weekend Upper Peninsula Veterans and their immediate families are welcome to join UPVETS Served for our 2024 Winter Bay Cliff Event. The event is free for participants and takes place February 9th-February 11th at Bay Cliff Health Camp in Big Bay. Participants MUST be completely registered with UPVETS Served and signed up for the event to attend this event. To do so, they can call SAIL at 906-228-5744.

Munising Public Schools’ 2024 Salmon in the Classroom Fundraiser Please help our high school students purchase Scientific Equipment to conduct environmental water quality studies and support the continued rearing and release of salmon as well as the construction and deployment of fish cribs. To help, attend the Rotary Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at the Munising Middle/ High School starting at 7:30 a.m. and going until noon. Breakfast has a suggested donation of $10 for individuals or $20 for families. You can also donate online.

Freezin’ for a Reason

The Polar Plunge is coming up fast Feb 10th at 1 p.m. PLEASE consider donating to our team and/ or individual team members: Gale Rodgers, Jim Rodgers, CathyWeisinger, and Arlene Swanberg Currently, Jim Rodgers is our only water Plunger! You could also join our team and plunge or watch like a chicken! The Munising goal is $12,000 this year!! To get involved, talk to the Kiwanis of Alger County.
