Recently, on social media, there have been many dire requests for new volunteers, a necessity to keep our many non-profits running. Munising area is a small community and existing volunteers, many of whom are veterans, are becoming unable to participate; therefore, new volunteers are needed. If you are looking to become involved, Facebook is a good place to start by joining community groups like Munising Informed and others.

Many of our area programs and scholarships rely on volunteers and cannot run without your continued support and assistance. Young or old, if you wish to be involved by joining a group, making a short term commitment, financially supporting a local organization, or working on school community service hours here are some recommended places to start. Some groups require background checks if working with youth and/or on school grounds.
