Join Cycle UP: Youth Mountain Biking Club
Join Cycle UP, a 4-week mountain biking club for youth aged 10-18! Led by volunteers James Petersen and Rhonda Lassila, sessions run Mondays in June from 5:30-6:45 pm at Valley Spur Lot. Michigan Angler Snags State-Record White Perch Michigan angler Scott Smith proudly reels in state-record white perch, weighing 2 lbs, 5.92 oz and measuring 16.25 inches, caught while still-fishing with minnow bait in St. Clair County. Smith, fishing on Lake St. Clair, secured the record-breaking catch on April 25, verified by fisheries biologist Cleyo Harris. His monumental feat surpasses the previous record set in 2015.
Embrace the Outdoors: Celebrating National Trails Day National Trails Day, celebrated on the first Saturday in June, encourages people to explore and enjoy America’s vast network of trails. It promotes outdoor recreation and trail stewardship. National Play Outside Day, held on the first Saturday of every month, encourages children and families to engage in outdoor activities, fostering physical fitness and a connection with nature. It is a great time to explore our many local trails, beaches and waterfalls.
