The Superior Central cross country teams brought their conference seasons to a close on Thursday, Oct. 10. The Cougars took part in the Skyline Conference meet held at the Dale Fountain cross country course.
In the boys race, Stephenson took home first place with 55 points, followed by Munising in second with 59. Superior Central took fifth place out of six scoring teams with 93 points.
The Cougars were led by Cody Moore, who crossed the line in 12th with a time of 19:54. Jack Kasten was 19th at 21:33, Carter Korpi (21st) had a run of 21:44 and Clay Horne posted a 21:45 (22nd). In 30th with a 23:17 was Gavin Stebelton. Cole Ozoga finished 31st with a time of 23:27 and Isaac Gleason placed 32nd at 24:02.
Stephenson also took first place in the girls race, with 47 points, finishing just ahead of Powers North Central, which recorded 48 points.
Munising was third and Rapid River was fourth, while Superior Central was one runner short of posting a team score.
The Cougars were led by Elaina Karvinen, who was 15th with a time of 27:02. Kiera McDonald was right behind in 16th on her run of 27:10. Emma Stoliecki finished 23rd at 30:14, and Aiyana Taskey placed 26th by clocking a 33:00.
Superior Central runs at the U.P. Finals on Saturday at Pictured Rocks Golf Course in Munising.
