The Munising Bay Trail Network offers over 50 miles of trails, creating year-round opportunities for adventure. Trail adventures await Bruno’s Run (12.6 miles): This scenic loop winds through lush forests, offering views of McKeever Lake, Pete’s Lake and other natural landmarks. Accessible for hiking and mountain biking, the trail connects to Pete’s Lake and Widewaters campgrounds, making it a favorite for adventurers seeking a mix of convenience and beauty.

Munising Mountain Bike Park: Perfect for riders of all skill levels, this park is packed with exciting features:

• Superior Air (1,500 feet): A thrilling jump line for those seeking excitement and challenge.

• Da Play Zone (1,000 feet): A playful loop designed to be fun and accessible for riders of all abilities.

• Rock On (1,000 feet): A rock armored trail with gaps, drops and plenty of unique features to test your skills.

• Gateway Loop (1.3 miles): An aggregate capped one-way loop perfect for both riders and hikers.

• Munising Bay Loop (1.3 miles): A singletrack loop that encompasses the bike park offering stunning views of Munising Bay and Grand Island.

• Pump Up Da Jam (800 feet): A short but energetic burst of fun and challenge.

• Mountain Goat (2.6 miles): Challenging climbs; endurance-testing route for riders looking to push their limits.

• Zach’s Zip (1,500 feet): This newly redesigned technical trail offers riders a place to build their technical skills with progressive drops that starts with a beginner/ intermediate segment and transitions into an advanced segment with higher drops specifically designed with skilled riders in mind.

• Flow & Steady (1 mile): Intermediate downhill flow trail with optional side hits for advanced riders.

Riders should always pre-ride and re-ride any technical trail before attempting any of the features. Any features that are not rollable (with controlled speed) have ride-around options making the trails accessible to all skill levels.

Valley Spur: Multi-season gem Nestled in the Hiawatha National Forest, Valley Spur Recreation Area offers over 27 miles of single-track trails:

• Just Beechy (13.4 miles): A flowy, scenic ride through rolling terrain.

• Hemlock Valley (12.5 miles): A serene trail showcasing the forest’s quiet beauty.

• Cedar Streak (1.1 miles): An out-and-back trail providing riders/ hikers a quick connection to Hemlock Valley.

• Doing Oak Eh (0.8 miles): A beginner-friendly trail ideal for families.

• Pine Line (8.1 miles): Recently completed, this trail connects the Munising Township McQuisten Recreation Area to Valley Spur Recreation Area.

The Valley Spur Ski trails, totaling 27 miles, are known for their pristine grooming. The trails vary in difficulty, offering something for every skill level.

• Easy (green) trails: A, W, X, Y and V

• Intermediate (blue): B, D

• Difficult (black): G, H, I and Z Every trail at Valley Spur is groomed for both classic and skate skiers. Two parking lots are available to access all of the trails in the system. The recent addition of the Upper Parking Lot (1 mile west of the lodge and main trailhead) offers a great place to start in spring or during icy conditions for safe access to the flat trails up on top (V, W and Y).

Valley Spur provides opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. During the snowy season, dogs are not allowed on the groomed ski trails. However, dogs are welcome exclusively on the Wyman Pines Loop, a groomed snow biking trail. This loop also accommodates snowshoers and cross-country skiers, offering a versatile option for winter recreation. In non-winter months, dogs are allowed on all Valley Spur trails, providing ample opportunities for exploring the area’s scenic beauty year-round.
