Nancy Mae (Ely) Boucher, formerly of Munising, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Escanaba.
She was born on October 2, 1943, in Munising, the daughter of Waldo J. and Marie V. (Bergeron) Ely. Nancy was a lifelong resident of Munising and graduated from Munising High School.
On December 8, 2017, Nancy married Terry Boucher in Munising.
Nancy worked various jobs throughout her lifetime. She loved music and was a talented musician, playing the guitar and singing in a number of different bands over the years.
Listed among survivors include her husband, Terry of Munising; children, Mary Pietsch, Terry (Lisa) Compton, Larry Compton, Lisa (Tom VanDrese) Mlostek, and Waldo (Fran) Benson; daughter-in-law, Candice Compton; grandchildren, Harrison Compton, Natalie Compton, Stephanie Compton, Victoria Nava, Matthew Nava, Kyle Benson, Chris Mlostek, Brianna Mlostek, Blaine Benson, Nevaeh Benson, Gary Dean Compton, Jr., Kiana Compton, Meagan Trombley, Dustin Lee Mackie, Teagan Compton, and Tristan Compton; several great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Linda) Ely, Fran Ely, Maxine (Don) Thomas, and Dellrose (Terry) Kovarik; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Ely and Mary Ely; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Marie Ely; son, Gary Compton, Sr.; and brothers, Joe Ely, Paul Ely, Richard Ely, and Jerry Ely.
A celebration of Nancy’s life will take place at a later date in Munising.
