Betty Hall, age 102, of Munising died on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Christian Park Village in Escanaba. She was born on Feb. 22, 1923, in Munising to Ira and Ruth (Ross) Hanson.
Betty graduated from Sacred Heart School and then from William G. Mather High School in 1941. Betty married Blinn Hall on Nov. 1, 1947, and together raised their four children. She worked at the Munising Café, the Alger County Tax Payers Association and then for the Munising Credit Union for 31 years, retiring in 1988.
Betty was an active and faithful member of Sacred Heart Church, St. Bridget Circle and the National Catholic Society of Foresters. She served on the board of directors for the Alger County Historical Society and served as the treasurer for 12 years. Betty was an integral part of transitioning from the Lobb House to the Washington School location. She enjoyed traveling and being with family and friends. Betty was a bowler and loved playing cards with friends and family, and she never let her grandkids win. Betty had an infectious giggle and could handle receiving and dishing out playful razzing with family and friends. She and Blinn were married 48 years when he preceded her in death on July 15, 1996.
Betty is survived by her children, Tom Hall, Tim (Kelly) Hall, Janice (Richard) Bailey and Patty Aho, all of Munising; grandchildren, Bromley (Christina) Hall, Bree (Brad) Stinson, Brody (Tammy) Hall, Jim (Kasi) Hall, Danny Bailey, Rick Bailey, Taryn (Jason) Pierce, Derek (Michelle) Aho and Brandon Aho; great-grandchildren, Kinley, Cohen, Leighton, Willow, Brooks, Bryce, Owen, Matti, Logan, Nolan, Kylie, Kara and Ethan; former daughter-in-law, Pat Cornish-Hall; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Ruth; husband, Blinn; granddaughter Jennifer McGlone; son-in-law Greg Aho; brother, Ira “Hack” (Paula) Hanson; and sister, Barbara Hanson.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.
