Eden Lutheran worships on Saturdays at 5 p.m., and on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee fellowship. Eden offers “open communion” at the Lord’s table, where all are welcome.
We continue to collect donations for the Free Store, which we hope will be up and running in October. If you would like to donate cleaning products or personal hygiene products, please consider these items for donation in September: grocery bags to use at distribution, 13-gallon trash bags, toilet paper, dish soap, laundry soap, and bar soap. We also appreciate monetary donations. Please check back here in early October for information on distribution.
Our Book Discussion Group will meet again from Noon-1pm on Wednesday, Sept. 13 to discuss “The Firekeepers Daughter” by Angeline Boulley. Our October read is “The Women of the Copper Country: A Novel” by Mary Doria Russell. You can order your books or ask Pastor Tera to order for you.
Sunday, Sept. 17 during the 10:30 a.m. worship service, there will be a special blessing for all who are “back to school” in whatever way that happens in your life. All are welcome to invite those who work in any type of education, and all who are there to learn.
Confirmation classes for fifth and sixth grade students (and older) will begin on Sunday, Sept. 24 from Noon-2 p.m.. This class is an orientation for both students and parents or other adults in their lives who will be walking the journey of the Small Catechism with them. Please bring a bible to this class. Pastor Tera recommends using an NRSV or NIV bible, and if you need a suggestion for a specific bible, she can help with that. If you have a student who will be starting Confirmation classes this year, please let Pastor Tera know.
Eden’s Supper Club will meet on Wednesday, Sept. 27. Come join the fun and fellowship at Supper Club. We are gathering in the church kitchen to enjoy supper with friends around the big table. Please call the church office by Monday, Sept. 25 to sign up.
Eden’s Fall Festival is back! It will be Saturday, October 7, from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.. All are welcome! We will take anything you would like to donate except clothes, including crafts, plants, produce, baked goods, etc. There will also be White Elephants and raffles. You may bring your items during office hours or make arrangements for other drop-off times. You can price them, or we will price them for you. Everything must be there before October 7 except baked goods. We are going to have the Bazaar in the basement this year, so please bring your donations to the basement kitchen. Pastor Tera continues recover from her knee replacement surgery at her parent’s house in Gladstone. Please know she is still available by cell phone or email. She plans to be back in the pulpit on Sept. 16.
