Eden Lutheran worships on Saturdays at 5 p.m., and on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., followed by coffee fellowship. Eden offers “open communion” at the Lord’s table, where all are welcome.
We continue to collect donations for the Free Store, which will be up and running in November. We are also collecting our 4th quarter “Feed the Pig” to have organ repairs done.
Our Pet Blessing is Saturday and Sunday, October 7th and 8th. There will be a time during worship to bless our pets. If you would rather not bring your pet inside, Pastor Tera will be outside for a half hour (Sat. 4:30-5 p.m. and Sun. 10-10:30 a.m.) for the blessing. If you would like to bring a picture of your pet, or if you would like to have your stuffed animal blessed, please feel free to bring them along!
Our Book Discussion Group is open to anyone, and will meet again from noon-1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11th to discuss “The Women of the Copper Country: A Novel” by Mary Doria Russell. Our November read is “Broken For You” by Stephanie Kallos. You can order your books or ask Pastor Tera to order for you.
Sunday, September 17th during the 10:30 a.m. worship service, there will be a special blessing for all who are “back to school” in whatever way that happens in your life. All are welcome to invite those who work in any type of education, and all who are there to learn.
Confirmation classes for fifth and sixth grade students (and older) will begin on Sunday, September 24th from Noon-2pm. This class is an orientation for both students and parents or other adults in their lives who will be walking the journey of the Small Catechism with them. Please bring a bible to this class. Pastor Tera recommends using an NRSV or NIV bible, and if you need a suggestion for a specific bible, she can help with that. If you have a student who will be starting Confirmation classes this year, please let Pastor Tera know.
Reformation weekend, October 28th and 29th, we are showing the Luther movie and having a potluck both services. Bring a dish to pass, any movie snacks you might like, and maybe even a comfy cushion or lawn chair. The movie will play in the sanctuary, so those chairs will be available for seating.
Typically, the office is open on Mondays, Wednesday, and Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Please contact the office or Pastor Tera directly to schedule a time to meet with her at the church, in the community, or in your home, as office hours change with vacations and other summer activities. The office number is 906-387-2520.
We invite you to worship and fellowship with us, and want you to know that all are welcome, just as you are! God’s love is for all people!
