With Lent quickly approaching, I’ve been wondering what spiritual practice I can pick up this year. Spiritual practices are those things you do to strengthen your faith and your spiritual connection to God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are practiced on a regular basis in the hopes that it will become habit. This year I am going to take on reading the Bible.
Yes, I read the Bible regularly, but this year I’m going to do some intentional reading. I’ve laid out a reading list that follows the lectionary, those readings that we hear on Sundays. I go into this knowing that I am not good at keeping up such a practice. In the past I’ve taken on too much to read, so this time I’m trying to simplify the process by sticking to readings of a reasonable length.
