Superior Central is upgrading multiple educational opportunities by constructing a sugar shack, specifically constructed to teach about construction trades, food preparation and local plants. The shack will be an extension of the school’s maple syrup making science projects.
“Every spring Mr. Bliss and his classes tap trees to make syrup. This year we decided it was time to make a sugar shack. We harvested a few Red Pines behind the school and former SC teacher, Mr. Pociopa brought his sawmill over. Mr. Coggers classes were outside today working with Mr. Pociopa to cut the lumber so that our shop classes can start building the sugar shack,” the school wrote on its official Facebook page.
