Expanded summer offerings are available at Alger Parks and Recreation for kids.

Youth soccer is returning to the area for the 2023 summer season. A four-week program for five- and six-year-olds, plus longer seasons for 9U and 12U are available. A 15U program can also return to Munising if interest is there for a full squad. Practices begin mid-June and games begin in July and run through the first week of August. Prices are $30 for the youngest squad and $40 for older kids.

A team is also looking at starting in the Chatham area. A 9U team was available last year, but as some kids grow to the 12U level, more kids are needed to play in both divisions. Signup forms are in the Alger Parks and Recreation office.

A limited amount of DayKamp week passes are available for $150.00 per week. This brings kids into the popular summer DayKamp program, which provides safe and healthy entertainment options like crafts, exercise and field trips in the community. Signups are open for the junior golf clinic, a seven-week golf tutorial program for kids 6-14. All equipment is provided as well as free lunch. Sign up is available at Pictured Rocks Golf Course.
