Munising started the scoring off with a goal at 17:19 left in the first half.
Big Bay and Munising proceeded to trade on and off goals until the half ended with a score of 3-2 in favor of the Bobcats, with one goal by Trek Filz and two more from Dylan Swift.
The Black Bears came out with a mission in the second half and had a locked down defense for the first 20 minutes of the half. Big Bay tacked on three goals in the half while keeping the Bobcats at bay and holding them to only three shots in the second half. Nick Desjarden had three goals for the Black Bears while Parker Pederson tacked on 2 more. The Black Bears took the match with a final score of 5-3. They are idle until September 15th when Beaver Island comes to town for a weekend matchup.
After soccer the Varsity Black Bears took on the Bobcats in a volleyball match-up. The Black Bears won 3-0 (25-8, 2512, 25-13). Lila Morris led the team with nine kills.
“Our serving really helped us pull those quick leads as well. I was really impressed with Camryn’s serving tonight. She had 12 aces for the night and Payton added 7,” BBdN Head Volleyball Coach Angie Carley said. “We worked really well together. We called the ball, we didn’t let our mistakes take over our positive mentality and we were able to end the night with a win.”
