Munising graduate Riley Murk was named to the St. Norbert scout team players of the week on November 3. The offensive lineman was one of three players recognized for their efforts in preparing the Green Knights for their varsity games that week. It was his first collegiate accolade.

Manistique hockey alum signs with Thunder

Forward Tristan Ashbrook has signed with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL. The former Manistique Emerald played with the Savannah Ghost Pirates last season.

Tech, LSSU win CCHA honors

Three NCAA Division 1 hockey players from U.P. universities received player of the week awards from the Central Collegiat Hockey Association. Chase Pietila and Isaac Gordon of Michigan Tech won defenseman and rookie of the week respectively, while LSSU’s Ethan Langenegger was the goaltender of the week.

Bay volleyball season ends

The Bay College Norse volleyball program ended their season at the Great Lakes District B Volleyball Championship hosted by St. Clair County Community College. The Norse lost both of their games in the double elimination tournament, ending the season for Superior Central alums Emma Rutter and Riley Moore.

NMU wins, Tech upset

The GLIAC women’s soccer tournament runs through Marquette after a big 3-0 win by the top-seeded Northern Michigan University Wildcats over Purdue Northwest in the opening round. Michigan Tech was the third seed, but was upset by Wisc. Parkside 2-1.
