Munising tennis comes up short in matches

The Munising tennis team took part in a match at Norway on Monday, September 9. The Lady Mustangs came up just short, 5-3. They also competed at Ishpeming Westwood on Thursday, dropping that match 8-0.

“[Against Norway] we lost but the girls played super well,” head coach Abbie Hayes said. “[Against Westwood] there were some good points played out. Both days were extremely warm for the girls and they did very well for not being used to playing in the heat.”

Winning matches against Norway were Dayne Behning and Kate Matson in number one singles, Jolie Ake in four singles and Maddy Knuttila and Lauren Nelson in number four doubles.

Munising was at Negaunee on Thursday and will head to Gladstone on Wednesday.
