Munising Baptist sweeps host Grand Marais

The Munising Baptist volleyball team traveled over to Grand Marais for a doubleheader on Thursday, September 19. The Lady Bobcats managed to claim their first two victories of the year. They won the first contest 25-22, 25-18 and 25-19 and followed that up in the second game with a 25-14, 25-14 and 25-18 victory.

“I was really impressed by how the girls played their game,” co-head coach Ashley LaFlamme said. “The other team played a lot of bump ball, but our girls were good about still trying to get a bump, set, spike each time we had the ball. We had some great serving runs. Alta had the most with seven, and this is her first year playing.”

On Tuesday September 17, the Bobcats had a road Northern Lights League game at Big Bay de Noc, dropping that contest in straight sets, 25-3, 25-9 and 25-9.

“The first match the girls looked a little sleepy, but the second match showed us how well the girls can play together,” LaFlamme said.

M-B was at Mackinac Island on Monday, hosted Hannahville on Tuesday, will compete at Paradise on Monday and hosts Big Bay on October 7.
