Hannahville sits atop the Northern Lights League boys basketball standings for a reason. The Munising Baptist Bobcats found out why on Thursday, Jan. 30, as they lost a road game at Hannahville, 81-43.
“Hannahville is undefeated in conference play and is a solid, athletic team that plays well as a unit, so we knew we had a challenge in front of us,” Munising Baptist head coach Paul Johns said. “We held relatively close after three, but Hannahville stretched their lead out in the fourth.”
The high-scoring Dylan Swift did what he could offensively, scoring 24 points on the night. He hit an early 3-pointer and had five points in the first quarter, as the Bobcats were down only 12-11 after one.
Four more points from Swift and four by Ian Cross were all the Bobcats scored in the second, and they fell further back at the half, 29-19. They were also behind 6038 entering the fourth quarter.
The Bobcats were led in scoring by Swift, who hit two 3-pointers as part of his 24 points. Ethan Swift hit two triples as well and tallied six points. Cross also finished with six points, and Gabe Heyrman added two.
