The best wrestlers in the state met up at Ford Field in Detroit last Friday and Saturday. Munising had two grapplers make the trip, competing in the Division 4 portion of the tournament: Korbyn Smith and Cayden Wieczorek.

Smith wrestled in the 144-pound weight class. He lost his first match to Aidan Taylor of Union City on a first-period pin. In his next bout, he was pinned midway through the third period by Aiden Turner of Perry.

Cayden Wieczorek was competing in the 157-pound class. He had the benefit of a bye in the first round, but he fell in the next round on a tech fall to Cliff Jones of Clinton. In the blood round, he came up short to Logan Wilks of Charlevoix, getting pinned midway through the first period.
