Mather Elementary 2022-2023

We are pleased to announce that Ryan Cook has been chosen as our Student of the Week. Ryan is in Kindergarten and is the son of Jon and Shelby Cook. Ryan is a very considerate classmate. He is always willing to lend a hand to fellow students having difficulties with daily routines. Math is his specialty, and he often scores 100% on assignments. However, his favorite class is gym. This summer, Ryan wants to learn how to play basketball and hockey like his mom and dad. When he is not spending time outdoors with his family, Ryan likes to play video games that let him build and be creative like Minecraft. Congratulations to Ryan and his family!

Remember the accomplishments of our local students

Success in our schools overloaded the news section of this week’s edition, and for good reason. In and out of the classroom, Alger County students have worked hard to improve themselves. It’s been through plays, through trades, through sports and through social activities. They play instruments, volunteer and show leadership that will help strengthen the community, both now and for as long as they stay in the area. The trophy cases at all of the schools in Alger County are full for various reasons and, personally, I’m proud of every single one of them for their efforts.
